Doo.Ri Spring 2012
New York Fashion Week
September 9, 2011Review: This review will be quiet short, not because I don’t like Doo.Ri’s Spring 2012 collection, but because the designs were rather repetitive. A lot of draping material was used throughout, in a palette of nude tones and white - nothing new from Doo.Ri if we look at the previous collections. Also a lot of sheer material was used, which I’m not complaining about. While talking about the collection as a whole, you may notice a lot of white was used. I think its safe to say that white is certainly trending for SS12. Now to the specifics. What is interesting about this collection is the use of tassels. I previously mentioned that tassels was a big trend in Fall 2011. Gucci’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection was of course the queen of incorporating tassels into designs, however Doo.Ri has done suitably well applying the luxury addition into one of his pieces in particular. The white blazer, sheer shirt, and shorts, completed with a necklace and tassel really works. The flowing nude-toned gown with trail towards the end of the show was one of my favourites. Also for the first time this season, I actually liked the shoe choices and the gold strap looks great with most of the pieces. Despite the positive aspects that I have mentioned, I did have one problem with this collection. I found it difficult trying to understand the whole concept of this collection and noticed many pieces seemed out of place.

“The beauty look at Wes Gordon can be summed up in three words: fresh, young and elegant,” said Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer. “The skin is dewy, the brow is strong and the lip pops with a sheer wash of color.”

Suno, Spring 2012.. the first runway show was tonight at MILK.
I have to say I preferred the presentation they did last season because you really got to go up and check out the clothes, all the layers and patterns and textures which is really such a big part of what they do.
But anyway it was exciting to see their first runway! Here’s some quick hair and makeup.. basically a really soft, nude/blush palette for the face with a scrunchy modified victorian looking up-do. Not a brilliant description, I’m sorry.
